Something is finally growing, and it has brought its own weather.

The whole frame is green: bright lime and new-leaf on the left where the light is strongest, deepening toward a cooler forest green in the bottom right corner. Across it, hundreds of soft white circles sit out of focus, the kind of light you get through a window with too many trees outside it. Layered over them are the bubbles proper, drawn crisply, thin-walled and transparent, some clustered in threes and fours, the largest ones on the right holding a faint dusting of texture across their surface.

It reads as breath before it reads as anything else. Air going somewhere, in a place that has been short of it.

This is the one piece in the range that behaves like a plant. It brings green into a room without needing to be watered, and it sits well in a bedroom that already has a bit of foliage, or one that has failed at foliage several times running.

The tone is deliberately fresh rather than dark, so it works in morning light and holds its brightness on a north-facing wall.

Nine tenths of this picture is empty space. It is the busiest thing in the range.
